It's easy to forget that the original Woodstock was supposed to be a money making affair. There were actually 186,000 advance tickets sold. The organizers figured most people wouldn't show up for all three days, and that there would be no shows. So they thought with 186,000 advance tickets sold, they would likely have about 50,000 attendees each day.  Instead 400, 000 people showed up, most who did not have one of these thanks to a shortage of funds and time resulting in the planned fence and ticket windows not being complete on time. While we can't be sure, the known conditions at the festival, and the pristine PSA 10 Gem Mint condition of this ticket suggest that it was purchased in advance and never made it to Max Yasgur's farm.
