While almost everything about this card is debatable (year, whether
or not it's self-developing or even a strip card) what's not debatable
is that they are real photos, they are tiny measuring about 3/4" x 1
1/2" and cool! These are super rare and the checklist before this recent
find only had 15 cards on it. Between this find adding 6 to the
checklist, and the publicity generated by the find unearthing yet
another example the checklist now stands at 22!
While the Cobb is not one of the new additions, it is still very hard to
find. PSA hasn't graded any of these cards and this is the only Cobb SGC has graded! All of these cards were carefully, mechanically (no water or
solvents) removed from a black album page. We cut out around the card
first and then slowly teased off as much black paper as we could without
damaging the back of the card. Due to this residue these are all SGC 1.
Other than centering and light surface wear this is a sharp card from the front. Apparently some of these cards have been glued to something at another time before they were glued into the album as a few of them, including this Cobb, has paper with some sort of print on it in addition to the black paper residue.
UPDATE 11/21: Our population and checklist information is only as good as the publicly available information that we rely on.
Prior to our grading this card there was no population listed for Cobb. After we got it back the population was listed as one. Since the auction opened I have had a digital image of another SGC graded Cobb sent to me. So, in all likelihood the pop report is wrong.
