A late 1960's Early 1970's Child's scrapbook. The first 20 pages or so are filled with magazine and newspaper cut-outs as well as personal snapshots including Tom Seaver, Yogi Berra and others. Then there are dozens of blank pages until you get to the end of the book where there are 21 pages filled with autographs! Most are cuts that the collector apparently collected and then cut and taped into the book. There are some autographed baseball cards, 3 x 5's and other items as well. Collection is very NY centered (the collector was born and raised in Brooklyn) and contains both baseball and Basketball. The collection also contained a number of Mets and Knicks tickets so I imagine that's how many of these autographs were obtained including from visiting teams. There is also an envelope of 20 or so more cuts that either fell out or were never pasted in. Highlights are:
BASEBALL: Rollie Fingers, Dom DiMaggio, Hal Trosky, Johnny Mize, Rod Carew, Orlando Cepeda, Phil Niekro, Ralph Kiner, Don Sutton, Rocky Colavito, Gaylord Perry, Tony Perez, Johnny Bench, Phil Rizzuto, Lou Boudreau, Pete Rose, Ernie Banks, Leo Durocher, Fergie Jenkins, Billy Williams, Ron Santo, Gene Mauch, Maury Wills, Bill Mazeroski. Intersting note many of the Pirates are in Red like the Clemente and were likely all signed the same day as they're the only red ink in the book.
BASKETBALL: Billy Cunningham, Bailey Howell, Bill Sharman, Dave Bing, Earl Monroe, Jack Twyman, Walt Bellamy, Howie Komives, Gail Goodrich, John Havlicek, Willis Reed, Don Nelson, Phil Jackson.
Approximately 190 Autogrpahs in total. Obviously we can't guarantee the authenticity of an entire book of autographs, but the source as well as the fact that the few that we removed for individual authentication all passing leads us to believe that more than likely the vast majority of the autographs are good.
