Frank Reagan played in the NFL from 1941-1951, with a break for military service 1942-1945. He played his college ball at the University of Pennsylvania. Deceased 1972. The letter is written in fountain pen on Lumbermens Mutual Casualty Company of Illinois letterhead. The letter mostly discusses what he's been doing this summer. In the second paragraph, he reveals he received an offer of a $5000 signing bonus plus $50 a week for the remainder of the summer to play baseball, on the condition that he give up football, an offer he turned down. The final sentence, "I'm really waiting very impatiently for the season to come George and hope to hell we do better and play better for you and the other coaches this season" leads us to believe that the "George" referred to is College Football Hall of Fame coach George Munger, who was the head coach at Penn while Frank was there.
