The _._ instead of "Made In USA" in the center brand indicates pre-1921. Bats prior to 1916 were marked "Hillerich & Sons" in the center brand. The name John Baer has been stamped next to the center brand. Unfortunately, Baseball Reference has never heard of him. A hook has been screwed into the knob, and one side has been sanded down, so we're assuming that this was hung from a wall in a sports bar or man cave at some point.
