Arthur "Red" Patterson sportswriter/executive. Started his career writing for the New York Herald-Tribune where he was one of the first people outside of the Yankees to learn that Lou Gehrig was going to take a day off. Later joined the Yankees as the first ever publicity director for an MLB team. While there, he conceived of the first Cap giveaway day, team yearbooks, and old-timer games. He's also credited with coining the term "tape-measure home run". He left the Yankees for a similar position with the Brooklyn Dodgers, where he got to be the one to tell the world the Dodgers were leaving Brooklyn for LA. Deceased 1992
