One of the saddest stories in sports history. Stokes was a dominant rebounder who fell on his head on a drive ina playoff game in his third season. Knocked unconscious, when he came to he actually returned to the game. A few days later he had a seizure on a flight and was paralyzed by delayed swelling of his brain. Teammate and fellow HOF'er Jack Twyman became his legal guardian who cared for him until his untimely death at age 36. The NBA went on to name the "Best Teammate" Award the Twyman - Stokes Award which was created in 2013. Card is extermely OC to the upper right with only minor corner wear, but light surface wear and a light crease down from the top edge towards his shoulder on the right lower the grade.
