All 200 hand cut cards. #57 Jim Ninowski and #74 Sam Baker are the black asterisk versions. While we've seen worse cuts, many were cut inside the black borders and may not receive number grades if submitted. In terms of wear (disregarding cuts), average condition is EX. A very difficult set to find fully assembled - players who were on unpopular cereal brand boxes are effectively short prints and can be exceptionally tough to find. Key cards (again, listed conditions are for wear, disregarding cuts):
#8 Jerry Kramer HOF short print EX
#29 YA Tittle HOF short print EX
#59 Joe Schmidt HOF short print EX - black border visible all around
#61 Jim Brown HOF EX more than 60% of border visible
#90 Johnny Unitas HOF EX
#97 Jim Johnson HOF short print VG more than 60% of border visible
#111 Bob St Clair HOF short print EX more than 60% of border visible
#111 Mike Ditka HOF rookie short print VG/EX
#184 Fran Tarkenton HOF rookie VG/EX approximately 60% of border showing.
Long-time friend of the company Carl Frysinger recently passed and made arrangements to consign his collection. With a collection that stretched from 1887 - 2022 and was as close to comprehensive as we've ever seen, he was one of the foremost Phillies collectors in the hobby. In his memory The Collector Connection will be donating 1% of our portion of the proceeds of the sale of his items to the Central PA Foodbank in Carl’s name.
