Carruthers certainly has a case for the greatest player not in the HOF. A star Pitcher AND position player he was the precursor to Ruth, Ohtani etc. He excelled at both leading the league in Wins 2x and ERA once while putting up a career OPS+ of 134. THe card doesn't strike us as trimmed as much as there is catastophic damage to the bottom edge, but it looks natural not cut. There is also glue residue and paper loss to the reverse, but still a chance to own a card of a legit 19th centruy superstar.
Long-time friend of the company Carl Frysinger recently passed and made arrangements to consign his collection. With a collection that stretched from 1887 - 2022 and was as close to comprehensive as we've ever seen, he was one of the foremost Phillies collectors in the hobby. In his memory The Collector Connection will be donating 1% of our portion of the proceeds of the sale of his items to the Central PA Foodbank in Carl’s name.
