This bank doesn't technically belong in this auction as it is a post 1941 reproduction but we thought it would appeal to this crowd. Titled "Hometown Battery" is designed so that you have the pitcher throw the coin into the bank. Amazingly, despite the rust and wear, it still works - though it is a bit involved.
1. Push the catcher's head forward to open the deposit slot.
2. Hold the catcher's head in place, than move his mitt hand up, this locks the slot open. Due to age and wear, it may take a couple of tries to get it to stay.
3. Place a coin in the pitcher's hand pull back and release. Our experience is that the pitcher has control issues, and more change will end up on the floor than in the bank.
4.Once you're done tossing coins, lift the batter's arms and that will close the slot.
Coins are removed from the bottom.
