Belonging to the set that many believe contains the first true basketball cards. Appearing in Series 5 the Luther is the third basketball card to make an appearance. Williams in series 1 and Northwestern in series 2 beat it out, but it edges out Xavier in series 6. These are on rather flimsy stock and also have a metallic gold inner border leading to all sorts of potential condition issues, but this one is remarkably clean. There is a scratch down from the top edge viewed horizontally, to the "U" in LUTHER on the pennant. Moderate to heavy corner wear but extremely clean with great color and nice shine still on the gold metallic inner border. Really an excellent example of an important card that can still be had quite cheaply.
