We don't normally bother with talking about a player's exploits but Sauer has always bugged me. Basically the manager of the Reds (Bill McKechnie) didn't care for him and kept sending him back to the minors. He was 31 before he finally played a full season in the majors and STILL hit almost 300 home runs. Can you imagine spending the entirety of your prime in the minors (where he routinely hit a ton) and still being a two time all-star and getting MVP votes 6 times and winning once? Really one of the underrated players of all time.
