The gloves are coming off on this one. PSA has lost their mind. We had a PSA 6 of this card in our last auction. This is in MANY ways superior to that card. Let's start with the left to right centering being the best we've seen on any example. The absolute tiniest touch to the lower right corner and pristine corners for the other three. No edge damage to the blue edges of the front OR back of the card. We thought this had a genuine shot at being the first 9 ever on this card, though we'd have been happy with an 8 and not particularly surprised by a 7 with the way grading has been. A 6 is loony toons.

The grader's notes state "Centering, top-to-bottom. Print defects, front lower area" That's it. Not a word about any kind of wear whatsoever. So a card with no appreciable wear garners a 6??? The top to bottom is a little off, but not egregiously so. The "Print defects" is a bare scattering of miniscule white print snow that you're going to have a hard time seeing even in our over-sized hi-res images. By their own published grading standards this makes no sense as a 6. I would put this up against any of the 8's of this card out there. All 11 of them.

If you're unfamiliar with these, they were issued in polybags like typical Star sets, but only at the All-Star banquet, likely resulting in a smaller print run than the typical 5000 Star did. There are only 165 of these graded by PSA as compared to 394 of his #101 Star Rookie.
