These were unusual issues, The "cards" are 1.5" x 3.5" pieces of wood, but that may not be the most interesting thing about them. We were unable to find a complete checklist for either set, and there is no consensus on whether any of the "Real Wood Plaks" titles were also issued in packs of the "Valentine Plaks". One thing we noticed in this lot: there are 11 plaks with general jokes typical of the Topps novelty sets of the era, and those all have a small hole center top. One plak has a short humorous poem that is similar to the Topps novelty Valentine sets of the era - and that one does not have a hole drilled in the top. Is that drilled hole the difference between the two sets, or is the absence of one just a production error? Also, there is not a strong consensus in the hobby that both of these sets were issued in 1962, though there is general agreement that they were anywhere from 1962-1964. We went with the 1962 date because PSA graded packs (there are no graded cards in the pop report, and we're pretty sure that they won't grade them) of the Valentine Plaks are labelled as 1962.
