From the Charlie Wagner Collection

Nobody spent more time in the Red Sox organization than Charlie Wagner 12/3/1912-8/31/2006. Signed to a minor league contract in 1935, he made the majors in 1938. His playing career lasted until 1946, the whole time minus three years in the military with the Red Sox. During his time in Boston as a player, he roomed with Ted Williams.

Immediately following his playing career, he was hired as the assistant farm director for the team, a position he held for 15 years until he became a scout/roving pitching instructor. Except for a one year stint in 1970 as the Red Sox pitching coach, he would remain in that position until 1992. He remained on the Red Sox payroll as a consultant until his death on August 8th, 2006

This item is part of his personal collection of equipment, autographs, letters, scouting reports, and other memorabilia collected over the course of 71 years in professional baseball.
These forms were for determining if the Red Sox would be interested in acquiring players, not competitive scouting. The cover page was apparently also used for minor league scouting, as it has a key for “years away”. Comes with a signed letter of provenance from Charlie's son Craig Wagner.
