This is one of the animals, birds, or insects series printed by the French firm, Romanet.   The Continental Catalog confirms this set to be complete at 100 cards.  Backs contain information about the subject creature.  Like their American cousins there was room on the backs to add an advertisement and several have ads ranging from chocolates to pharmacies.  All cards can be found in either flat or embossed versions, but most of this group are flat.  These trade cards are extermely attractive with gold borders reminscent of T205's. They are in an average of VG/EX condition with quite a few grading out higher.
