Briefcase is like new, and while we can't promise that it's never been used, the fact that the key is still attached to a piece of cardboard stored inside the briefcase definitely points in that direction. Box was open at the top and does show considerable toning, as you would expect on an item this age. If there were any packing materials inside the box originally, this no longer has them.
