See lot 753 for brief sketch on Creighton. In this paper he appears in a box score as a pitcher for the Star Club who, after facing Creighton as an emergency reliever in July immediately secured his services. Amusingly they screamed after the game they faced him, that his pitches were illegal and that he was cheating. Apparently they got over that... Even more amusingly this game was against the vaunted Brooklyn Excelsior Club and the Stars were victorious. Guess who Creighton played for the next season?

As all the Porter's Spirit of the Times in the auction this was stitched into a bound volume so there is extensive spine damage including the stitch holes. Paper is complete and easily legible with the baseball content appearing inside on pages 4 and 5.
