Editorial comment from Scott:

Every now and then you come across an item that makes you remember why you started collecting. A piece that just makes you feel like a kid again. This one did that for me. Is it incredibly valuable? Well nobody's going to retire on the proceeds for sure, but it's just very cool to see something you've never seen before. I've seen tons of individual team pen and pencil sets, but never anything on this level. Plus there was the added fun of dating it. Oh Brooklyn Dodgers and NY Giants, so 1957 or earlier... Wait Philadelphia A's so 1954, (why doesn't the Braves have the city name?) hold on St. Louis Browns, so 1953 etc... I hope you all think it's as cool as I do!

One of the pencils is for the Baseball Centennial which took place in 1939. The pencil for the "US Army Airforces" guarantees that it is at LEAST a pre 1947 piece as the Air Force as we know it today was created in 1947 as it's own branch of the military. An amazing piece with pen and pencil for all 16 teams of the day plus pencils for Atlantic City, NJ; (2) Harrisburg, PA; The aforementioned US Army Airforces, Chanute Field, IL; Baseball Centennial; New PA Motor Exp "Speedy Service Stimulates Sales/Lebanon (likely PA); (2) Little League. It appears 6 of the pens have leaked over the years, we tried a few random pencils and they were in working order. A total of 40 pens and pencils and what appears to be a slot in the center of the display for one more (likely for Atlantic Gasoline) which is empty. Display has some age but was likely created later. It's very well done, but if the pens leaked on an original piece there should be staining on the cardboard and there isn't.
