Lot Description  

The Stanford graduate spent one year with the Chicago Bears and three years in the service before returning home to the Bay Area as a member of the AAFC San Francisco 49ers for the 1946 season. According to the back stamps, this photo was used by the San Francisco Examiner November 10th 1946. Stamp is partially covered by the caption. Undated photographer stamp is fully visible in the lower right.
