The person who cut these from the newspaper took pains to carefully cut out the scalloped edges, which makes for cool eye appeal, but is inside what TPG's regard as the true border, so will not receive a number grade if submitted. What's more, that means the bio that appeared underneath the stamps is now a separate piece (at least they saved the bios), so they are in two pieces. It is highly unlikely a grading company will even slab them.
Long-time friend of the company Carl Frysinger recently passed and made arrangements to consign his collection. With a collection that stretched from 1887 - 2022 and was as close to comprehensive as we've ever seen, he was one of the foremost Phillies collectors in the hobby. In his memory The Collector Connection will be donating 1% of our portion of the proceeds of the sale of his items to the Central PA Foodbank in Carl’s name.
