On Aug 23rd, 1964, the Phillies led the NL by 7.5 games. Despite a late September collapse, they were still in first on September 26th. Unfortunately for Phillies fans, the implosion continued as they lost another 4 straight (they had also lost the previous 6 games), including a 3 game sweep by the Cardinals, who overtook them and went on to win the series that year. These tickets would have been good for admission to games 1,2, 6 and 7 if the team had just managed to protect their lead.
Long-time friend of the company Carl Frysinger recently passed and made arrangements to consign his collection. With a collection that stretched from 1887 - 2022 and was as close to comprehensive as we've ever seen, he was one of the foremost Phillies collectors in the hobby. In his memory The Collector Connection will be donating 1% of our portion of the proceeds of the sale of his items to the Central PA Foodbank in Carl’s name.
