Item was in Auction "Post War Sports Cards Memorabilia Football Kickoff",

Corners have been clipped and possibly trimmed along the top edge or at least miscut with heavy damage to the right of his head, and paper loss in several spots in the lower right.

Acton is a sad story. He played football at Harvard while in med school and went on to coach Vanderbilt for three seasons including an undefeated 1897 season. He died in 1900 of a morphine overdose at only 33 years old. One would suspect because, as a doctor, he had easy access.
