Woven silk scene of a rugby football match, measures 6"x 9" with frame. The Stevengraph company operated from the 1840's through the 1940's (their Coventry factory was destroyed during the German blitz), the 114 Newgate St address printed on the back dates this to the 1880's. At the time these were printed, both soccer and rugby were referred to as "football" in England, and the rules for American football and rugby football were almost identical.
