This is a stunning card. Clearly we are missing something here because this isn't a grade or even two grades off of what we were expecting. We thought this had a chance to be the highest graded Type Three. Razor-sharp corners, snow-white borders and what we thought was a clean back. Often the back is what dooms these as there is glue residue or subtle paper loss from being in the Sanella album, but even under magnification we could only see very minor soiling on the back. We have had it on display at several shows including the National and to date everyone who has seen it has been stumped.
Type Three is generally considered to be the toughest back from the set and obviously Babe Ruth is the key card. If there was ever a time to by the card and not the slab, this is it. If it is won anywhere near a "2" price it's a steal for what could be a showpiece for many collections.
