Mace was a British boxer who fought in the US to attain World Heavyweight Champ status. We're not exactly sure what we have here. It's obviously a photographic reproduction of some sort and it has some age to it, but it's certainly not period to Mace's career in the mid 19th century. It appears to be an enlargement which accounts for the somewhat fuzzy registration. His name is on the back in ballpoint pen and there is some brown paper residue, possibly from being inexpertly framed. There are a few light creases and it appears to actually have been trimmed down from an even larger size at some point. We can make no representations as to the age, but due to Mace's status as a pioneer of boxing we thought it belonged in this auction
