Not sure what the reason is. It clearly wouldn't have graded over POOR as there are tack holes in all 4 corners, but we can find no recoloring and it certainly doesn't appear to be trimmed or cleaned or otherwise altered. Corners are rounded but it looks like wear, not like they were cut. Note to newton rings that appear around the borders of the card. These are an optical affect caused by light refraction through two different layers of plastic. There is an inner "baggie" holding the card in place. Long-time friend of the company Carl Frysinger recently passed and made arrangements to consign his collection. With a collection that stretched from 1887 - 2022 and was as close to comprehensive as we've ever seen, he was one of the foremost Phillies collectors in the hobby. In his memory The Collector Connection will be donating 1% of our portion of the proceeds of the sale of his items to the Central PA Foodbank in Carl’s name.

We are finishing up Carl's amazing lifetime collection in this auction and would like to thank everyone who supported the efforts, especially those who made an extra donation on top of our efforts. We will be sending a little over $1000 to the foodbank in Carl's name.
