Lot Description  

Part of a consignment from the son of former minor leage umpire Joseph Coppa.Joseph was only active with the West Texas New Mexico League in 1952, so that is most likely the season these balls are from. Wrappers indicates a Warren Giles ball, and there is an additional name printed on the seal- Ray Winkler president West Texas-New Mexico League. Winkler presided over the league from 1952 to 1954. Research indicates that these balls would be standard Warren Giles balls. but with an additional side stamp for the pioneer league, though you obviously cannot see that while the ball is wrapped. The wrapper does have some staining and toning, but the seal is still intact.
