Lot Description  

The CDV has no publisher information, but the National Portrait Archives at the Smithsonian credits the photo to Charles Fredricks, a protégé of Jeremiah Gurney. Click here to see their credit information. These CDV were commonly carried by actors and given as souvenirs to admirers. There is not a provenance chain on this particular CDV that establishes that this was handled by Booth personally, but the possibility cannot be ruled out.
