Post card promoting the celebration of Jim Thorpe's triumphant return to Carlisle following the 1912 Olympics. These post cards were locally issued and do not commonly come up for public sale, and then the version that is usually seen has Jim Thorpe by himself on the picture side. Also pictured on this card are Louis Tewanima, who won silver in the 10000 meters, and legendary coach Pop Warner who was both the track & field and football coach at Carlisle Indian Industrial Scoool, which both athletes attended. Card appears to have been either glued or taped into a scrap book on the postal side and later removed, the resulting damage makes it impossible to tell if this was postally used or not. Some staining to the picture side. Multiple creases, Missing lower right corner, and a small piece missing from the upper left.
